Sierra Engineering Inc. was founded in 1998 and operated locations in Carson City, NV, and Sacramento, CA. We are now operating as Sierra Engineering & Software, Inc. and are only located in Sacramento, CA.
Services
Sierra Engineering generates computer models that accurately predict and validate engine components and fluid properties. Typical transient analyses estimate overall engine response over mission environments and provide preliminary valve sequencing for engine startup and shutdown. ROCETS has been used effectively to simulate all types of non-Rocket fluid systems as well.
Sierra Engineering specializes in the design of cooling chambers, injectors, igniters, nozzles, and other rocket engine components. Sierra utilizes SolidWorks to generate 3D models and drawings, and has extensive experience with Pro/Engineer. We have an extensive understanding of standard (and non-standard) manufacturing processes, and associated costs for metals, exotics, and composites.
Performance prediction is typically the first aspect of characterizing an engine, and certainly the most fun. The above tools allow us to meet mission requirements, and also provide early predictions of rocket engine performance critical to your propulsion system.
