WBCM provided structural engineering services for the selective demolition and renovation of the former Schoen's Furniture building. WBCM designed concrete shear walls to provide lateral-load carrying capacity in the north-south (long) direction where it was previously provided by brick walls. The brick was removed to allow for a curtain wall feature on the West facade.
WBCM reviewed the selective demolition of the existing structural elements to avoid structural damage to the building. WBCM also oversaw extensive concrete remediation, providing investigative services and full details and specifications for repairs.
