Lutz, Daily & Brain, LLC, (LDB) has enjoyed 71 years of providing high quality consulting engineering services to clients. Well Established Firm- With a respected national reputation, LDB has been in business continuously since 1948. Good Client Relations - LDB is still working for two of their four original clients.
LDB prepared a power supply study followed by a feasibility study for Falls City, Nebraska. Design of a dual fuel diesel generating unit to replace aging electric generating capacity of the City's electrical system has been recently completed. LDB served as part of the design team that upgraded the existing chilled water system at KSU.
LDB prepared a forecast of chilled water, steam and electrical needs of the campus. The steam and chilled water systems were modeled using computer software programs. Various system improvement programs were developed and presented in a Utility System Master Plan. LDB assisted in the evaluation of a performance contracting proposal for implementation of a program of improvements.
LDB prepared technical and economic analyses as well as specifications for a new combustion turbine generator (CTG), heat recovery steam generator (HRSG), and balance-of-plant equipment including water treatment, piping, wiring, controls and other auxiliary equipment. This cogeneration plant is capable of producing approximately 23,000 kW of electrical capacity as well as 180,000 pph of steam.
