After hiring Scott to do an addition/remodel I can honestly say that it was one of the worst decisions I've made in a long time. At first I thought Scott had done a satisfactory job until confronted with a potential problem with his drawings. Instead of being professional and open to suggestion Scott seemed more worried about his ego. Despite the fact that Scott never assessed the area where the addition was going in, he felt that he was in the right and did his due diligence for our project.
I maintained a neutral position during the process until Scott lost his temper with me while I was trying to figure out where we were with resubmitting our plans. Scott has left our project and it was for the better. I hope that this is a one time incident, but I felt that everyone who is considering this company for a project should know about our experience so that they're not surprised by Scott's behavior.

Personally, I can say that the owner of this company (Scott Betancourt) is a complete tyrant. I worked for him as his "secretary" for about 5 days - he was virbally abusive, calling me "incompetent" for not knowing how to do my job PERFECTLY after the first day and very cruel. He bad mouthed his former secretary (my predecessor) calling her words like "lazy, dumb, immautre".
He complained on my first day that he "couldn't find someone to stay at this position" GEE, I wonder why? All in all, they may do a good job in regards to engineering but this review is based on the sheer unpleasantness and disgust that I have for this guy. It's obvious that he was probably made fun of as a child (Revenge of the Nerds status) and now has to do all he can to belittle those around him so that he feels better about who he is.
He obviously does not have values. He is nice to the people that give him money and business but to everyone else he treats like dog shit - even his own children and family, whom he bosses around when they come in to help around the office. If only some of his business partners could see how I was treated - they would not want to do business with him ever again.
God doesn't care if you have a BMW and that's who he will have to answer to someday. "He that slays shall be slain." - Scottish Proverb quote And FYI I am a hard worker and an intelligent young woman, not some punk off of the street - I have been at my current position (the job I got right after walking straight out of NSD) ever since I left his horrible office and since have been promoted to a manager position. How is that for karma? :)
