The firm was founded upon the basic principles of doing things right and taking care of their clients. Since then, RETL has expanded their presence throughout Texas, opening offices in San Antonio and Round Rock. The company currently employees more than 70 people. RETL is the only locally owned and headquartered Engineering Laboratory-and the largest Engineering Laboratory in the Coastal Bend.
For over 20 years Rock Engineering and Testing Laboratory INC. has provided services to the Coastal Bend region and remains the only locally owned and headquartered engineering laboratory. In 2005 RETL established a presence in San Antonio, Texas and has seen continued growth in project volume and staff size.

Rock Engineering and Testing Laboratory, Inc. is certified to pursue projects issued by the federal government through the United States Army Corps of Engineers Small Business and Contractors program. The AASHTO is a standards setting body which publishes specifications, test protocols and guidelines which are used in highway design and construction throughout the United States. The statewide HUB Program facilitates the use of HUBs in state procurement and provides them with information on the state's procurement process.
