GARD Analytics

GARD Analytics, Inc. is a small business corporation located in northwest suburban Chicago that provides energy, environmental and economic R&D services for residential, commercial and industrial buildings to a broad mix of institutional, governmental, and corporate clients in the energy and environmental sectors.

GARD Analytics' staff has been working with building energy modeling and economic analysis tools for over 25 years. The three principals of GARD Analytics specialize in utilizing and applying building energy simulation tools to analyze building energy efficiency, evaluating cost effective design and retrofit options for improving energy efficiency, comparing alternative building heating, cooling, refrigeration and power generation alternatives on the basis of annual energy cost and life cycle costs, and identifying markets where new technologies can compete with conventional building energy systems.

GARD Analytics can provide solutions and answer questions using a variety of energy analysis techniques. Beyond building energy modeling, analysis includes statistical analysis of existing building energy databases such as from U.S. DOE Residential Energy Consumption Survey (RECS) and Commercial Building Energy Consumption Survey (CBECS).

GARD has also been closely involved in the development of national building energy codes and standards including a detailed simulation based assessment of the ASHRAE 90.1-1999. GARD has continued to be closely involved in the improvement of successive versions to 90.1.
