Fern Engineering was founded in 1967 as an engineering consultant company specializing in gas turbines. The company originally focused on providing design and failure analysis services to gas turbine owners and manufacturers.In 1979, the company was acquired by Thomassen bv, a Dutch gas turbine manufacturer. The company was commissioned to design a highly efficient 10,000 horsepower industrial gas turbine.

Our nozzle facility at Fern Engineering is dedicated solely to refurbishing fuel nozzles and other gas turbine components.
Our uniquely engineered parts improve efficiency for owners and operators of the Rolls-Royce Avon powered CR Coberra, DR 160/200 and GEC-EAS packages. There's nobody that understands hot gas leakage from the Rolls-Royce Avon like we do at Fern Engineering. Our specialty hardware, including our uniquely engineered Exhaust Transition Duct, is specifically designed to outperform problematic OEM components and eliminate power-robbing hot gas leakage.
Don't trust your gas turbine to just anyone. Our inlet fogging and wet compression systems deliver the power you need at a cost that makes sense. Our inlet cooling systems (also known as fogging systems) augment the power output of a gas turbine in warm weather conditions. With all stainless steel materials, Fern Engineering's inlet cooling systems use positive displacement pumps to pump demineralized/de-ionized water at 3000 psi (207 bar) from the pumping skid to spray nozzle manifolds located in the air duct downstream of the filter housing.
