Analytical Engineering

One focus for AEI is research and development of engines and engine related systems. AEI has twenty six engine test cells that are comprised of AC motoring dynamometers, cold cells, altitude simulation, CVS tunnel, and thermal cycling capability. Also housed within AEI is the vehicle engineering center, this is where prototype components can be installed and developed in vehicles ranging from pickup trucks to buses and semis. Many of the various development programs at AEI involve hardware and software iteration.

The AEI facility, which includes twenty six engine dynamometer and component development cells, is uniquely designed to provide a research and development environment in support of a breadth of diesel engine and/or vehicle development programs. Numerous diesel engine development services are offered, ranging from endurance development to ratings development for optimum performance and emissions compliance.

Engine Component Development - AEI has designed, built, and installed a variety of stands for component development and evaluation. Analytical Engineering, Inc. offers development of prototype hardware in our test cells utilizing engine testing methods that include both industry standard and custom developed cycles.

The vehicle engineering facility provides a clear span, high clearance height, and sufficient area for performing a wide variety of vehicle engineering activities on practically any conceivable wheeled vehicle platform. Land directly behind the facility has been utilized to develop numerous different types of non-road vehicles, including tractors, bulldozers, backhoes, front wheel loaders, scrapers, rollers, and compactors.

AEI's emission measurement capabilities are state of the art and include a fully staffed emissions laboratory where analyzers are packaged, maintained, and repaired. AEI builds and/or packages the sampling system as well as our standard emissions rack; these can be installed in a development cell as needed.
