SoundPLAN is an acoustic ray tracing program for noise propagation prediction written by the German acoustical consulting firm, SoundPLAN GmbH. The Company began operations in Anaheim, California in 1971 as Acoustic Power Systems, Inc. Initially, the Company specialized in the development of high power acoustic generators. Subsequently, the company focused on the development of electro-dynamic shakers and power amplifiers.
The Company's name was changed in 1989 to APS Dynamics, Inc. Dynamic Design Solutions ("DDS") is an independent and privately owned developer of CAE software tools for a growing number of applications that exploit the combined use of experimental test data and finite element analysis data and for integrating and automating different CAE tools.

In a recent project, Navcon & Halvorsen engineers encountered a 18 Hz resonance problem in a Drive Motor System. Navcon engineers conducted a dynamic characterization of an Environmental Stress Screening - Vibration Impact Table. As part of a Natural Gas Pipeline construction, a Natural Gas Compressor Station was installed in a rural community.
Noise has a multitude of effects on our environment and society. As part of modern civilizations standards and legal ruling have been developed and are continuously updated to set parameters for equipment limits, city, state or federal requirements. These standards and legal rulings regulate what is consider audible, acceptable, allowable or significant.
Navcon Engineering Network provides peer review services for SoundPLAN Outdoor and Indoor noise models. Over the past 20 years noise model peer reviews are getting more common. In some cases RFQ's request that a list of companies are provide that could conduct a peer review. This trend is partly due to the standardization of prediction models, commercial software products, quality control, quality assurance procedures and anticipation of legal actions.A peer review ensures that high engineering standards are achieved.
