Adkan Engineers was founded in 1983 by the joint efforts of its original partners, Ed Adkison and Albert Anderson. Adkan was initially established as a survey company; however, as a result of the growing need for Civil Engineering support, an engineering division was created. In subsequent years the firm expanded, which included bringing several junior partners on board.
Adkan Engineers provides professional Civil Engineering, Land Surveying and Land Planning services to the public and private sectors. In providing these services Adkan Engineers has developed a reputation for expertise in the following development areas; Commercial /Retail, Industrial, Office, Educational, Multi-family, Churches, and Residential & Commercial Subdivisions.

There are a lot of people out there that call themselves Land Planners, but there is more to planning than some text and pretty pictures on a sheet of paper. We have found that without a civil engineering or land development background designs are often presented that look good but can't be built and/or have no chance of gaining local agency approval.

If you see an Adkan truck in the freeway or streets, BEWARE! Their drivers do not know how to drive. Their truck was driving on the 10E during traffic hour, tailgating cars, almost hitting them, swerving left and right, changing lanes erratically. Wouldn't be surprised if they've hit and run before. If that has happened to you, here is a picture of their truck and license plate. I would not want them driving in my neighborhood, careful who you hire.

Just a note to whoever drives your trucks, ADKAN: Your drivers should follow the same traffic laws as the rest of us. Like stay near the speed limit; signal your lane changes; stay out of the carpool lane; don't cross the barrier lines; etc. Drive with some pride for a change, not like an obnoxious ---hole. (134 FWY eastbound in Burbank, 1 pm, Jan. 6)

This might be the best experience I've ever had in my life utilizing the services of Adkan Engineers. I had a wall built by a company I hired who ensured me that the wall was completely permitted. I was gone for business so I had to trust that these people did their jobs. The wall was completed and after a few weeks away, I returned to a ticket on my front door from code enforcement for building a wall without a permit.
I had to either tear the wall down or get engineered specs saying how the wall was built. Adkan has been through this with many other customers and handled everything in order to settle the matter to the county inspection specifications. Wonderful people to work with and they saved me a lot of money if I would have had to tear the wall down. The wonderful thing is they didn't take advantage of a bad situation and charge me an arm and a leg. I would highly suggest using these great people for any engineering needs you have in the future.
