Since 1981, Soil and Material Consultants, Inc. has provided consulting civil engineering services in the soil and construction material fields. Our services include geotechnical engineering, soil borings, pavement coring, construction material testing, and quality assurance of soil and construction materials. Full service on-site construction material testing with IDOT certified technicians and laboratory testing in our AASHTO, CCRL and IDOT certified lab. We have in-house drill rigs to obtain pavement cores, subsurface soil and ground water information.

Our laboratory is AASHTO, CCRL and IDOT accredited to perform testing and inspection of HMA, PCC, Aggregates, and Soils. Services offered in house include engineering, testing, inspection, and quality control of soils and construction materials. Our Field Testing is carried out by our certified professionals and is critical for the viability and safety of a construction project.
Soil and Material Consultants has our own in-house drill rigs staffed with qualified personnel to obtain pavement, subsurface soil and ground water information. We provide detailed soil and pavement investigations. Our full service laboratory provides physical testing of the soil samples. We provide geotechnical and pavement investigation reports with engineering analysis and recommendations. Our full service team is able to provide the drilling, laboratory testing, and geotechnical reports in-house.
Soil and Material Consultants is always looking for qualified individuals to join our team. This job entails daily outdoor operation of the drill rig / core machine. They will assist the crew chief in solid and hollow stem auger drilling techniques. Additional responsibilities include moving, setup, assembly and maintenance of the drill rig.
