W-Trans assisted with the design plans and specifications for a roundabout at the junction of two arterials in Agua Caliente, located at the transition between rural and suburban Sonoma County. The City of Chico created a bicycle corridor in the First and Second Street corridors serving the Chico State University and core downtown area. New bike lanes and improved traffic flow were achieved within the existing road width through a "road diet" and conversion to a one-way street couplet. Since 1995 W-Trans has provided traffic engineering and transportation planning services that are inclusive and encompass the mobility needs of all potential users. We are particularly skilled in retrofitting existing streets and roads to make walking, bicycling and transit use safer and more convenient while also appropriately managing vehicle traffic.
W-Trans was established in 1995 by Senior Principals Dalene Whitlock and Steve Weinberger. Headquartered in its current office location in downtown Santa Rosa since 2005, W-Trans opened an office in Oakland in 2011 with Mark Spencer as the Branch Manager. Our staff from both offices work collaboratively as one service center.

We take a holistic approach to traffic engineering, realizing that solutions cannot be developed in a vacuum or strictly follow the standards of the past.
