Services
Most of the brick buildings in San Francisco have been seismically upgraded per Ordinance 92, and Double-D Engineering has been the go to firm for these majestic buildings. Our most recent UMB upgrades is an old Fire House in Russian Hill. It required all the typical elements of a seismic upgrade- steel frames, concrete shearwalls, plywood diaphragms, parapet bracing, and seismic roof and floor ties.
With the economy heating up, multi-unit mixed use construction is back. Our firm has been involved in many new office buildings, and our all-time favorite is a 6 story building completed 2001. This building has an astounding 100,000 square feet of office space on 2nd Street. Also included with this project was a renovation and seismic upgrade of the 4 story concrete building, juxtaposed, and appearing like new construction.
