The Investigative Engineers Association (I-ENG-A) networking ability and technical resource sharing, expert services may be tapped on many types of forensic engineering, origin and cause and accident reconstruction investigations enabling its members to respond more quickly. This provides for a comprehensive investigation that is also more cost-effective and timely.
In these litigious times, even a seemingly minor accident can result in a serious claim. The role of the investigative engineer in accident investigation is to determine from the facts what happened. Injuries requiring investigation and expert testimony can be regarding death or may be relatively minor.
Investigative Engineers Association (I-ENG-A) member firms, which consist of professional engineering firms, each receive specialized training in fire investigation as they come on board with the association. The expertise a professional engineer combined with our training which focuses on the scientific method, adheres to current standards.
When physical evidence is obtained as part of an investigation, it must be properly documented, analyzed and secured as soon as possible to avoid spoliation. Parties must be put on notice for proper laboratory examination.
